Diary

A year at a glance
Sun 27 December 2015

With this facebook i notice that writing in the diary is not the first thing i do. After all: i already wrote something.....
I think i promised it before: I'm going to improve my life! And keeping the diary up to date....

A lot happend, a lot to tell.....
Again have (unfortunately) some dogs left us. It is always bad, the one worse than the other. Basically, we all miss them !! And each loss is almost unbearable though we know that we choose the best for the dogs!

Also again lost a cat, but also a horse who stood at the beginning of his life, by an unforgiving real stupid peasants, and the rest of what I would say.... maybe it is better not to say.....
Because of all the impotence and unjustly maybe the toughest loss of the year. Also knowing that he must have suffered terribly before he died. Suffering through a stupid human person.
Agencies that did nothing and do nothing. That while someone calls out wildly to the SPCA and says we have no stable for our horses, wich clearly and in plain view for all is in our meadow, they get a lot of people working to protect our horses! ....
We try to put it behind us, but forgetting: Never! Forgive this man: Never!

A year that we want to forget realy fast. Much that broke, the most wich cost a lot of money:
1) Tanka and her caesarean section, in which we lost almost Tanka and all her puppies.
2) Wunta who broke his leg. Not just a fraction, but a very complicated fracture.
3) The car broke down
4) The ATV broke (in a quad wich is only 1.5 years old, we have to put a new engine in
5) The horse accident
6) The entire vegetable harvest failed partly because of the weather, partly failed because of other nasty conditions
7) Boiler guesthouse which stop working
8) The car with major damage
9) The car for a "normal" maintenance, but where it appears that the former garage or not replaced the brake's or has established a set there which they still had, the timing belt and even more so the bill was a bit expensive.
All costs this year for the car, someone else buys a good 2nd-hand car for it, where they can ride another 5 years with....
10) heater broke down in the winter.

Then there are the things that do not cost money, but rack your brain and break your heart.
But also the very poor start of the new winter season. The snow came in a quit good timelap, but then one big misery: rain, rain, rain and then just ice. New snow would be the solution, but is was not awarded to us.

For us, a year that should not be forgotten very quickly!

Of course a lot of nice things happened wich we would not forget!!!!!
Encounter with a bear, looking for horse trails and looking for even more, walk and walk, then ride them with the horses. Schooling Tipa. Picking up Kaeti, new addition to the kennel: Y, Z and A-pupies. Some new kennels and a lot of niew cabins, horse meadows made. New cat, new dog in the house.
And what about our 10th anniversary!

10 years ago we left everything behind us to do somewhere something nice and funny.
Fun it is! We have never regretted it!
10 years ago we came here in a heap and had a lot of work, blood, sweat and tears to built all to what it is today!
10 years ago without any vieuw at income we have turned on to nice guests, nice tours, more plans, more dogs, more buildings, more work, more people who help us to fix all the work, other kind of animals, more horses, more, more, more.

A beautiful text from the gift that we got for our 10th anniversary and Christmas from Nanoek:
Richard, Claudia, Jay & Kyona,
10 years..... 10 years of pain, loss, sweat, blood, tears, spending a lot of money....
Okay, just kidding (not really ... but still ...)
10 years of happiness, tears from laughing, getting a lot (a lot) of dogs, cats and horses.
Getting to know a lot of new people, learning, making mistakes, and learning even more.
Turning a bunch of old buildings into an amazing quest house, reception and cabins. Building kennels, kennels and building again. Building doghouses and building doghouses again. Making this company even bigger by starting Siberian Adventure's Tour Riding ....

and a very nice overview:
2005:
32 Siberian Huskies, one Beppie, one house, one old building, one barn, Richard, Claudia and kids.

2015: 71 Siberian Husky's 1 Mila, 1 Eevee, 4 cats, 5 horses, 1 house, 3 cabins, 1 guesthouse, 1 reception, 2 camping fields, 25 kennels, 3 horse meadows, 1 riding area, 1 forest full with dog and horse trails, gardens, 1 (almost) Greenhouse, 1 employee, volunteers and interns, Richard, Claudia and kids.

Forwards to 2016 with many beautiful and good things !!!
